Deep Tissue Massage
This is our bread and butter. Our deep tissue massage involves slow and accurately sustained pressure targeting the deeper fibers of muscle and connective tissue in order to increase bloodflow and oxygen. The amount of pressure used is dependant on the conditon of the musculuture and the client's preference. The goal is to release tension, joint restrictions, and adhesions in muscle and fascia.

Lymphatic Drainage
Manual Lymphatic Drainage, or MLD, is a type of massage that's designed to reduce swelling and detoxify through promoting the movement of lymphatic fluid from swollen areas into the appropriate lymph nodes. It's generally recommended for post-surgical clients or those with fluid buildup in specific areas of the body. The touch is light and superficial, incorporating gentle, rhythmic stokes that stimulate the lymphatic system and encourage the movement of lymphatic fluid to be properly processed in the body.

Prenatal Massage
There are two common myths in regards to prenatal massage therapy. The first being that massage is dangerous during the first trimester. This is false. Not only does The American Pregnancy Association recommend first trimester massage, but clinical studies have shown that first trimester massage boasts numerous benefits such as:
-
alleviating pain in the neck, back, hips, legs, and feet
-
improving circulation
-
reducing stress and cortisol
-
easing insomnia
The second myth says that pregnant women can only receive light to medium pressure during a prenatal massage. Again, false. Barring any abnormal health issues, deep pressure can be used throughout the entire pregnancy without any heightened risk of miscarriage. As most prenatal clients will concur, firm and deep pressure are valued and appreciated during a pregnancy. We agree and we act accordingly.
